Design Statement
I’m designing a fishmonger, aiming for it to be a unique establishment. I hope to challenge people’s traditional perceptions of fish stores as being fishy and dirty. Instead, I want my fish store to surprise customers the moment they enter, making them think, “Wow, this is a fish store?” To achieve this, I’ve explored various concepts and decided to sell my fish in a manner similar to luxury handbags. Therefore, I’ve chosen a completely different approach. Firstly, I’ve selected orange as the main color scheme and incorporated a dining area inside. The choice of orange aims to shock customers upon entry, as traditional fish stores are not typically orange. I want to eliminate these stereotypes from people’s minds as soon as they step into my store. Setting up a simple kitchen inside is another point I believe can attract customers. Chefs will prepare the fish on-site, allowing customers to quickly enjoy fresh fish after purchasing. I believe this aspect can provide customers with a sense of “freshness.”
